At night, as if we were not tired enough, we went to this place 10 mins walk away to watch a video about the Sea of Galilee. which was honestly extremely boring. slept 5 minutes into the screening. and it was a 45 minute video. haha.
but after that power nap, i actually went to do abit of shopping. found this awesomely cheap shop, and bought quite a bit of stuff from there.. coz everywhere else was simply overpriced. not gonna get cheated.
nice walk at night, considering it was our last day at the hotel.. :)

Chorizin/Korazin - Jewish Ritual Bath
A Galilean-styled synagogue.
There were three woes. 1 to Bethsaida, 2 to Korizin, 3 to Capernaum (Matt 11:21)
So this place is one of them. and you'll see why.
Some points..
Firstly, water source here is only from the rain, or the spring. no TAP water. duh. during weddings, one of the rituals for the bride is that called "MIKVEH". they have about 40 se-ahs (8-10 Gallons) of water (from either the spring or raid), to signify Noah's 40 days of flood-water. The bride will then be "baptised" in that water. interesting hey.
http://jesus-messiah.com/html/mikveh.html
Secondly, the synagogue in the olden times was the place of gathering for the community. the ark will be there, and everyone will pray towards Jerusalem. doesn't that sound like.. some other religion? haha..
there is this MOST IMPORTANT SEAT. and guess who it goes to? Not the rabbi, or the high priest, but to the Person Who Contributed The Most To The Synagogue Either Financially or in terms of Leadership. hmm.. weird right? kinda corrupt if you ask me. but hey who am i to judge?
but Jesus can, and he did. that's why He cursed this place, and till today, it's all in ruins.. amazing the power of His words!
and guess who sits on the most important seat?
my dear dad
another thing. old judaism was centered around the temple. common place to meet. but the temple was destroyed.
so new judaism attempts to create a culture that is centered around the COMMUNITY instead of the temple. The problem of "how to collect the offerings" then arises, and so instead of monetary offerings, it was an offering of prayers. my next question would be, then how did the church run without money?
Galilee became the center of the Jews when Jerusalem was conquered by the Romans. therefore, the synagogues are the "new temples". or they were supposed to be lah.
honestly am still rather hazy regarding the difference between both. need to do more reading.
we sat on the stone walls/sides and had a time of sharing, testimonies.. nice to hear other people from the group share their personal stories.. :)
us children who daringly sat at the edge of the walls haha. show offs.
uncle peter, what are you doing??

Lunch at Kibbutz Restuarant
This restaurant is run by a Kibbutz, to serve visitors, tourists, etc. and that will go into their income. remember the communist thing. so work is shared, and so are profits. food was of fantastic quality. one of the best in the trip i admit. my dad's favourite no doubt.
everytime i tell myself, Rachel, you MUST take pictures of the food there. and EVERY time, i forget. =(
So after lunch, we took more pictures of their Kibbutz community, housing and all..
us pretending to be kibbutz house-mates
we WERE rather fascinated by the hobbiton-ness of it
pretending to be neighbours
hugging the stoney wildlife there

Random Jewish Trivia
Culture of Jewish Weddings
Groom has to smash a glass to remind them that the temple is still broken. even on their happiest day, they still need to mourn for Jerusalem. Psalm 1:3.
how interesting.. their loyalty and honour to the city of Jerusalem.
Shalom Jerusalem, amen!

Caesarea Philippi
Matt 16:13 - "who do you say i am?"
on this ROCK i will build my church. some interpret the ROCK as Peter, some interpret it as Jesus. i think both makes sense, though i believe Jesus is the only foundation we need. Peter did contribute to the building though, but he's not the foundation, Jesus is! :)
Reminds us of the other parable, Luke 6:46-49, the wise and foolish builder
beautiful beautiful scenery
we did a little track up, and saw wonderful things
like this cactus plant that was full of engravings, such as this! (amen!! haha, wonder if it's by someone from NCC ;))
more fantastic views
with me in them of course
ooh! i love this picture, with the aunties inside!! =D so cute lah all of them..
a picture without them, not half as exciting
but still beautiful
thanks uncle, for helping us take this picture! :)

Golan Heights
The place with nice coffee, army guys and coooollld mountain air, with a fantastic view.
mom wanted to intiate a photo with the army guys. and she did. asked dad to help take the photo.
and look, where's mom?!
From here, you can see all other countries around Israel. Syria, Lebanon, Palestinians, etc. and that's why it's the best look-out place, coz you can see everything for high up.
us with the cool misty air as our backdrop
cool misty mountains. forgot what they were though. =X
us with cool misty mountains
uncle anil, feeling literally on top of the world
they used the metals from the old tanks to create cute figurines, of which we naturally took advantage of
my sister and her skeleton haha

St Peter's Primacy
At this point, i was thinking to myself, gosh it's wayyy too fast. and yet, it seems as if we've seen soooo many places! how ironic isn't it? but one thing was for sure - i didn't want this experience to end..
Our first location for our Fourth Day was St Peter's Primacy, which is said to be the first place where Jesus said to Peter, "Feed my sheep", or in the actual greek, "Lead my sheep". interesting when the word is Lead instead of Feed. it gives a different take of the verse and situation huh..
Here we had Holy Communion, our first i think. awesome experience. worship too of course..
Uncle Sidney shared a little before our partaking
question. why 153 fish? (John 21:11)
remember numbers and significance? 153 interestingly has many forms of.. mathematical patterns.
http://www.scripturessay.com/article.php?cat=&id=516
also, according to moshe, 1+2+3+ .. +17 = 153. and 17 is the number of victory. so.. yep! accumulative victory, exponential almost! hallelujah! =D
they had beautiful murals at this place.
My mom and her posing
Took a picture with the Priest there, with auntie pat
Beautiful seaside
