The Start of the Journey

Now the fun begins. woke up at 515am, partly because piggie wanted to sleep in and shower later, which meant i had to use the shower earlier. but also because, i really couldn't sleep very much. too much excitement in me.

went down for breakfast at 630. spread was oh my goodnessly huge. seems as if breakfast at Israel is one big affair! i think there were like more dishes than, or at least as many as, dinner!! of course, went big on hommus and cheese, and cereal. interesting food. i like interesting food.

the only interesting thing that i really didn't quite like was their coffee. their filtered coffee, which means the powder was still IN the coffee. which was horrendously disgusting. didn't try it though, coz i was pre-warned. kinda regret that now actually. so i guess next time, MUST TRY!! too late now anyways.

Decided to snap some pictures of our first hotel before we leave..

Last one, just of the HOTEL itself.

then it was time to go! woo hoo!! filled up waterbottles, and off to our very first location - The Roman Sea Wall of Caesarea.

let me blog about some valuable information our fantastic Tour Guide, Moshe, was telling us. (btw, his name is what we call in English, MOSES. Cool huh.)

- The Bible is.. a book of Prophecies. eg Micah 5, and many others

- It takes more than a week to travel (in Jesus' time) from Nazareth to Bethlehem, 165km apart. imagine what a great risk Jospeh and Mary took when they travelled there, and with Mary pregnant!

- The family then went to Egypt to escape from Herod for 3 years, then went back to Nazareth when he was 3. he spent 27 years in Nazareth, before starting his ministry at the age of 30.

- Why 30? there are 2 types of laws: Bible Law and Rabbi Law. The former are laws from the Holy Word, the latter are rules made up by man/Rabbi. And according to Rabbi Law, one can only start ministry at the age of 30. So Jesus fulfilled the law to the fullest. Hallelujah!!

- David, born in Bethlehem too, was made king over Israel and Judah when he was 30.

- Capital of Israel is... Jerusalem! Not Tel Aviv. Jerusalem has a population of 700,000, and Israel a total of 7 Million, out of which 76% are Jews, 20% Muslim, 2% Christian, 2% others.

- Interesting to note that out of the 2% of Christians, majority of them are actually Arabs!

snapped some funky photos while on the bus..
